Wedding Stationery: Designing my Client's Dream Invitation Suite

One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is helping clients bring their visions to life through personalized art. Recently, I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful couple to create their dream wedding stationery. Their request was unique and heartwarming: they wanted watercolor invitations that incorporated their three beloved cats. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at our creative journey together.

The Consultation: From Vision to Inspiration

Our collaboration began with a virtual consultation where we discussed their ideas and vision. The couple shared their Pinterest board, which was brimming with inspiration. It featured dreamy watercolor themes, delicate patterns, and colorful design elements. They were clear about wanting their wedding stationery to reflect their personalities and include their three cats as a central element.

Translating Ideas into Mockups

After our initial consultation, I had a clear understanding of their preferences. I began by creating three mockups. The couple wanted their invitations to incorporate personal elements from their relationship such as nature, cats, and one of their favorite colors-blue.

Collaborative Revisions

I presented the mockups to the couple, and they were thrilled. They appreciated the variety of styles but were particularly drawn to elements from Mockup 3 so we decided to move forward with that design. They loved the floral elegance but wanted to incorporate the clean lines of the modern minimalism. We discussed their feedback in detail, and I proceeded with revisions.

Bringing the Vision to Life with Watercolor

With a clear direction, I began the watercolor process. The client sent ample photos of their cats to ensure I capture their unique likeness. Since the clients requested using blue as the primary color I made sure to blend up the perfect shade of ultramarine blue, as colorful and vibrant as my couple.

Finalizing the Invitation Design

Once the watercolor paintings were complete, I digitized the artwork and integrated it into the invitation design using my design software. The final design was a beautiful blend of floral elegance and modern minimalism, with the couple’s cats charmingly featured.

Delivering the Digital Files

I sent the completed digital files to the couple, allowing them the flexibility to print the invitations at a local print shop or through an online printing service. They were ecstatic with the results and appreciated the convenience of having the digital files.

Here's the final invitation design with some of the personal details altered to respect my client's privacy.

Heartwarming Feedback

The couple’s feedback was overwhelmingly positive. They expressed their gratitude for the personalized touch and the attention to detail in capturing their vision. Their kind words and satisfaction made the creative journey all the more fulfilling.

Conclusion

Helping this couple create their dream wedding stationery was a delightful and inspiring experience. It’s moments like these that remind me of the joy and beauty in personalized art. If you’re looking to bring your unique vision to life, I’d love to help you create something truly special.
